GCSC, MID-OHIO PARTNER AGAIN FOR 'DAY IN THE LOOP' FUND-RAISER
April 15, 2009
The Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course are teaming up once again for a fund-raiser that will allow Sports Commission supporters to experience high-performance driving at the Lexington, Ohio facility. “A Day In The Loop” at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is scheduled for Friday, May 15. Cost is $200 per person and includes a half-day driving course, lunch and a photo with your car. Proceeds of the event benefit the Greater Columbus Sports Commission’s sales and marketing efforts. “We are thrilled to return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for an event that was tremendously successful last year,” said Linda Logan, executive director of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. “We look forward to again providing our supporters a unique opportunity to enjoy an once-in-a-lifetime experience and to learn more about the Mid-Ohio facility.” Participants in the event will learn the physics and dynamics of driving, then get behind the wheel of an Acura TSX A-SPEC sport sedan to test their skills in high performance drills, including skid car, slalom and high-speed braking and turning. The experience culminates with an on-track lapping session on Mid-Ohio’s 2.4 mile, 15-turn road course. For those who cannot attend the driving course, the “Bob Evans Lap & Lunch” will allow participants to ride around the race track at speed with a professional driver and get their picture taken with a car. Cost for the “Bob Evans Lap & Lunch” is $50 per person. To register, call Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course at 1-877-793-8667 or visit www.ColumbusSports.org. The registration deadline is May 2.
