A new dodgeball tour that is owned in part by the Greater Columbus Sports Commission will make its first stop in Columbus this weekend.

The Duck ‘N Dodge National Dodgeball Tour was created by sports commissions in Cleveland, Columbus, Disney in Orlando, Fla.; Richmond, Va.; and San Antonio. The five-city tour opened in San Antonio on Sept. 30 and will finish on May 5 in Orlando.

The Columbus tour stop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Sports Barn at Easton, 3599 Chiller Lane. Play is set to begin at 10 a.m., and the winning team will receive $500 plus a year’s supply of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Cost to enter is $125 for a team of up to 10 players. Registration closes at noon Thursday.

The Duck ‘N Dodge National Dodgeball Tour is the first collaboration between the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and other commissions to create their own sporting event.

"It will be very important for the future of sports commissions to have the ability to create and own events, so this is a big step for us to be a part of the charter group for the Duck ‘N Dodge National Dodgeball Tour."
