HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISTS HIT THE BIG TIME
The Ohio High School Athletic Association and Greater Columbus Sports Commission launched an inaugural "Be a Sports Journalist" program in March with five high school students who scored well in the Ohio Scholastic Media Association's sports news contest. The program provided high school students with the opportunity to be part of the working media at the 2010 OHSAA Boys State Basketball Championships at the Value City Arena in Columbus on Sat., March 27.
The students were seated in press row, covered the four championship games, attended the post-game news conferences and prepared a story on their experiences. In addition, the students were recognized on the court for their participation in this program.
