As a host city, Columbus rolls out the welcome mat for competitors, spectators and officials. Often, the GCSC depends on the help of enthusiastic volunteers to donate their time to work at welcome centers, information booths or the event site.
With most events, there are a variety of shifts available. As a token of appreciation, volunteers may receive apparel representing the event. Previous events supported by volunteers include the NCAA Men's College Cup, Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Weekend, NCAA Frozen Four, NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments and the FIFA Women's World Cup.
